SUMMARY:Judy Collins
DESCRIPTION:Judy Collins has long inspired audiences with sublime vocals\, boldly vulnerable songwriting\, personal life triumphs\, and a firm commitment to social activism. In the 1960s\, she evoked both the idealism and steely determination of a generation united against social and environmental injustices. Six decades later\, her luminescent presence shines brightly as new generations bask in the glow of her iconic 55-album body of work\, and heed inspiration from her spiritual discipline to thrive in the music industry for half a century. \nThe award-winning singer-songwriter is esteemed for her imaginative interpretations of traditional and contemporary folk standards and her own poetically poignant original compositions. Her stunning rendition of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” from her landmark 1967 album\, Wildflowers\, has been entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Judy’s dreamy and sweetly intimate version of “Send in the Clowns\,” a ballad written by Stephen Sondheim for the Broadway musical A Little Night Music\, won “Song of the Year” at the 1975 Grammy Awards. She’s garnered several top-ten hits gold- and platinum-selling albums. Recently\, contemporary and classic artists such as Rufus Wainwright\, Shawn Colvin\, Dolly Parton\, Joan Baez\, and Leonard Cohen honored her legacy with the album Born to the Breed: A Tribute to Judy Collins. \nIn 2026\, Collins bids adieu to the road with her “SWEET JUDY BLUE EYES” Farewell Tour\, launching July 4\, 2026 and running through 2027—an expansive final run across North America and beyond that gives audiences one last chance to experience her timeless voice and storytelling live. The tour follows a remarkable recent chapter: six new albums released since 2015\, the artistic renaissance of Spellbound (her first album of all self-penned songs\, nominated for Best Folk Album at the 2023 GRAMMY Awards)\, and her 2025 poetry collection Sometimes It’s Heaven: Poems of Love\, Loss and Redemption—a vivid extension of the honesty and grace that have defined her enduring legacy.

SUMMARY:Chanticleer
DESCRIPTION:Known around the world for its eclectic repertoire and dazzling virtuosity\, the Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer – under the leadership of Music Director Tim Keeler – has been hailed by the Boston Globe as “breathtaking in its accuracy of intonation\, purity of blend\, of color and swagger of style.” Founded in San Francisco in 1978 by singer and musicologist Louis Botto\, Chanticleer quickly took its place as one of the most prolific recording and touring ensembles in the world\, an “orchestra of voices” performing thousands of live concerts and selling more than one million recordings. \nRooted in the Renaissance\, Chanticleer’s repertoire has expanded to include a wide range of classical\, gospel\, jazz and popular music\, and the group performs its beloved “A Chanticleer Christmas” program on tour every December. A new Christmas album\, Joy to the World\, will be released in Fall 2025. With a deep commitment to the commissioning of new compositions and arrangements\, Chanticleer foregrounds American repertoire and a distinctively American sound\, complementing the group’s signature diversity in terms of membership and genre. The ensemble has dedicated much of its vast recording catalogue to these commissions\, garnering Grammy Awards for its recordings of Sir John Tavener’s Lamentations & Praises and the ambitious collection of commissioned works entitled Colors of Love. Chanticleer’s 2002 album Our American Journey was inducted into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress in 2025. The group is the recipient of Chorus America’s Dale Warland Commission Award and the Chorus America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming. Chanticleer’s Music Director Emeritus\, Joseph H. Jennings\, received the Brazeal Wayne Dennard Award for his contribution to the African American choral tradition during his 25-year tenure as both singer and Music Director. \nChanticleer – named for the “clear-singing” rooster in Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales – was named Ensemble of the Year by Musical America in 2008 and inducted into the American Classical Music Hall of Fame. The group’s award-winning education programs were recognized with the 2010 Chorus America Education Outreach Award\, and have engaged tens of thousands of students since the ensemble began.

SUMMARY:Yamato
DESCRIPTION:YAMATO is a Japanese Taiko drumming group based in Asuka-mura Nara Prefecture which is well known by Japanese people as the hometown of Japan. They call themselves “YAMATO\, the Taiko drumming group that travels all over the world”. They have given more than 4\,500 shows across 54 countries around the world since their formation in 1993.\nYAMATO’s Taiko work cannot be fully described by the word “performance”.\nThey have performed in theaters\, schools\, all types of events\, and even held workshops and Taiko lessons. They are spending a half year on a Japan tour and a half year for the world tour. Their motto is “We go everywhere when somebody needs YAMATO! And bringing energy to the people living in the world!”. They bring joy to the world.\nOn stage\, they stand with more than 40 Taiko drums and all of them have different characters. For example\, their largest drum called “Odaiko”\, produced from a huge tree over 400 years old\, is approximately two meters in diameter and weighs 500 kg. All other Taiko drums are different sizes and have different sounds.\nThe members of the group have trained their bodies to the limit to beat these massive Taiko drums.\nThe acoustic pressure far surpasses what one could imagine.\nThey do not simply make their Taiko drums explode with sound; they produce delicate music that provides the listener with a palette of meticulously crafted sound. This is why YAMATO’s original performances are known as “Physical music”\, and continue to receive high acclaim all over the world. YAMATO is sometimes intense\, sometimes sad\, sometimes comforting\, and in the next moment comical on stage.\nThe audience is more than a group of bystanders at their performances.\nThe audience is engulfed in the sound of the Taiko\, and sweat\, cry\, and laugh; they become one with the performers. All types of people gather around the sound of the Taiko\, interweaving their lives\, and feeling the power of each other’s inner passion and heart.\nThey come together to create an instant in which they truly feel alive.\nLearn more about the International Subscription and SAVE! ➤

Not an impersonation act\, this five-person band of multi- instrumentalist/vocalists from Broadway\, Lincoln Center\, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra create a fresh\, vibrant\, and one-of-a-kind concert experience that celebrates ten years of music from the Fab Four. \nAs the popularity of The Beatles reached epic proportions\, they took musical risks that led to a catalog of music like no other band has ever generated. SUMMARY:Opera Gala: Magic Moments of Opera Scenes
DESCRIPTION:Based in Florida’s friendliest hometown\, “The Villages Philharmonic” is a professional Orchestra presenting the highest possible standard for excellence in musical performance since 2003. \nUnder the musical direction of acclaimed Conductor Pasquale Valerio\, the orchestra has grown in stature while enriching and shaping cultural life. The orchestra presents musical masterpieces to nourish the hearts\, souls and minds of local music patrons. \nMost members live in the Orlando area but we have regular members who come from as far afield as Jacksonville\, Tampa\, Daytona and St. Petersburg. The Philharmonic gives 13-15 concerts per year and so we don’t provide full time employment for any of the players. Our players are comprised of resident and international artists who collaborate with symphonic and operatic companies at large. Although most orchestra members are not Villagers\, there are two professional orchestra members who are Village residents and there are six amateurs who train each Saturday so that they can meet the standards required to play with the Philharmonic.
