DESCRIPTION:In November 2026\, The Villages Philharmonic will present George Frideric Handel’s Messiah\, Part I\, HWV 56. This extraordinary oratorio\, composed by Handel in 1741\, celebrates the prophecy of Christ’s coming\, His birth\, and the story of the Nativity. The performance will feature outstanding guest soloists together with the Orlando Opera Chorus\, joining The Villages Philharmonic for an inspiring evening of great voices\, powerful choral writing\, and Handel’s timeless Nativity music. \nBased in Florida’s friendliest hometown\, “The Villages Philharmonic” is a professional Orchestra presenting the highest possible standard for excellence in musical performance since 2003. \nUnder the musical direction of acclaimed Conductor Pasquale Valerio\, the orchestra has grown in stature while enriching and shaping cultural life. The orchestra presents musical masterpieces to nourish the hearts\, souls and minds of local music patrons. \nMost members live in the Orlando area but we have regular members who come from as far afield as Jacksonville\, Tampa\, Daytona and St. Petersburg. The Philharmonic gives 13-15 concerts per year and so we don’t provide full time employment for any of the players. Our players are comprised of resident and international artists who collaborate with symphonic and operatic companies at large. Although most orchestra members are not Villagers\, there are two professional orchestra members who are Village residents and there are six amateurs who train each Saturday so that they can meet the standards required to play with the Philharmonic.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. \nBad Company enjoyed great success throughout the 1970s – their first three albums\, ‘Bad Company’ (1974)\, ‘Straight Shooter’ (1975) and ‘Run with the Pack’ (1976)\, reached the top five in the album charts in both the UK and the US. Many of their songs remain staples of classic rock radio. For seven years Robert Hart was their lead singer. He has also played many years with The Jones Gang with Kenny Jones of The Faces\, and currently with Manfred Mann’s Earthband. Dave ‘Bucket’ Colwell\, guitarist\, spent 12 years in Bad Co\, was a member of Humble Pie for several years recording\, co-writing and producing the album Back on Track\, The Jones Gang\, ASAP and many other bands.\nHart’s powerful vocals and Colwell’s authentic guitar riffs recreate the timeless\, undeniable classics that Bad Company fans demand. The pair are joined by Pat Davey on bass (Paul Young and Cregan & Co)\, John Lingwood (Manfred Mann’s Earthband) and Roger Chapman\, on drums.\n\nFans can expect many of the classic songs spanning Bad Company’s repertoire; ‘Ready for Love’\, ‘Can’t Get Enough’\, ‘Rock and Roll Fantasy’\, the list goes on. SUMMARY:Three Dog Night
DESCRIPTION:Iconic American band\, THREE DOG NIGHT\, now celebrating its 6th decades\, boasts some of the most astonishing chart statistics in popular music with 21 consecutive Billboard Top 40 hits\, including 3 #1 singles and 12 straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs.\nCreated in 1968 by Irish-born Danny Hutton\, the group was conceived to feature three strong vocalists who shared leads and also blended together in exquisite three-part harmony\, complemented by four ace instrumentalists\, creating a self-contained unit.  This ultimately became Three Dog Night’s signature sound in the studio and live on the road.\nWorking with the studio duo of Richie Podolor and Bill Cooper at American Recording\, they identified and resurrected great songs\, mostly from undiscovered new songwriters of that time. The band’s eclectic taste and arranging talents\, combined with the ability to recognize and record hits in a distinctive style\, resulted in Three Dog Night dominating the charts for years\, earning a Grammy nomination\, performing at two Super Bowls and pervading American culture with its music ubiquitous on the radio and in film and television.\nFrom their debut eponymous album\,  Three Dog Night went on to release 12 gold albums and by 1975\, driven by chart-topping songs like “One” “Easy to be Hard”\, “Mama Told Me (Not to Come)\,” “Joy to the World”\, “Black and White”\, “Shambala” and others\, the band had sold over 50 million records.   During that time Three Dog Night also toured relentlessly\, quickly ramping up from smaller venues to selling out stadiums\, virtually establishing the modern concept of a “stadium tour”.\nHutton\, a denizen of the Laurel Canyon and Sunset Blvd music scenes\, was well established as a songwriter\, producer and recording artist.  He worked as a writer/producer for the label established by Hanna-Barbera animation studio where he was also immortalized as a character on “The Flintstones”.  Hutton had several regional hits as a solo artist including “Roses and Rainbows” and was invited to join the Sonny and Cher tour\, where he met Cory Wells\, lead singer of the Enemys.  They recruited Chuck Negron to complete the sound.  Initially the trio planned to work with Danny’s good friend and mentor\, Brian Wilson\, and record for the Beach Boys label Brother Records.   Wilson had christened them “Redwood” and they began work on several tunes.  However\, that project was abandoned when the Beach Boys objected to Brian’s songs going to another band.  After staging a showcase at Hollywood’s famous Troubadour and garnering the attention of various label heads\, Hutton eventually signed the group to ABC Dunhill records.\nThey sought out talented musicians and formed their own self-contained  band to both tour and record – allowing them to hone a specific sound and giving them independence from the labels and “Wrecking Crew” studio musicians that drove the sound of that period.  Also\, at Hutton’s insistence\, Three Dog Night recorded the best songs available\, by-passing the discord that comes from a band trying to write and promote their own work.  The band introduced large audiences to some little-known work of talented writers and artists of the era\, such as Randy Newman (“Mama Told Me Not To Come”)\, Harry Nilsson (“One”)\,  Laura Nyro (“Eli’s Coming”)\, Paul Williams (“Old Fashioned Love Song”) and Hoyt Axton (“Joy To The World”) and many others.  He also helped a young songwriter named Reggie Dwight aka Elton John get established\, encouraging and supporting him through his early career.  After meeting in London\, where Dwight pitched Hutton his songs\, Three Dog Night recorded and released “Lady Samantha” and “Your Song”\, establishing Elton as an up and coming artist .\nThe band’s name –Three Dog Night is the now famous moniker that derives from the tale of outback hunters who sleep with their dingoes on cold nights\, the coldest being a “three dog night”.\nStill road warriors at heart\, Three Dog Night hits stages 80+ times a year — reminding the faithful why those songs became classics\, and converting a whole new generation who weren’t even born when it all began.\nTHREE DOG NIGHT’s Top 40 Hits include;\n“Mama Told M (Not to Come)”\, “Joy to the World”\, “Black and White”\, “Shambala”\, “Easy To Be Hard”\, “An Old Fashioned Love Song”\, “One”\, “The Show Must Go On”\, “Never Been To Spain”\, “Eli’s Coming”\, “The Family of Man”\, “Liar”\, “Celebrate”\, “Out In The Country”\, “Pieces of April”\, “One Man Band”

DESCRIPTION:What began as a fun way to work with her friends has exploded into a comedy brand of its own. When Carole Montgomery (a stand up comedy veteran of over 40 years) started in the business\, you would never see two female comics on the same show. Fast forward to today’s comedy scene and nothing has changed\, even though there are way more women in comedy.\n\nWOACA was created to give older women comics a chance to be seen and be heard. Frustrated by how women are portrayed in show business once they hit the age of 50\, Carole decided to do something about it. It was only a few years ago that she had the idea to create a show that would travel to different cities and showcase a rotating cast of older female comedians. In no time at all\, Carole’s idea become a Showtime special that made history and broke ratings records. It was Showtime’s highest rated premiere of a stand up show in 2019! Two more specials followed and a national tour is now being planned.\n\nThe women who appear in WOACA are all brilliant\, funny\, and vibrant – and it just so happens that they are all of a certain age. We are delighted to welcome an extraordinary group of guest artists: sopranos Alexandra Molnar and Marcella Richardson \, tenon Mark Antonio de Villiers\, Norman Lee Schaffer \, and baritone Sean Stork. Together with The Villages Philharmonic\, these exceptional artists will create a memorable evening celebrating the warmth\, joy\, and togetherness of the holiday season. \nBased in Florida’s friendliest hometown\, “The Villages Philharmonic” is a professional Orchestra presenting the highest possible standard for excellence in musical performance since 2003. \nUnder the musical direction of acclaimed Conductor Pasquale Valerio\, the orchestra has grown in stature while enriching and shaping cultural life. The orchestra presents musical masterpieces to nourish the hearts\, souls and minds of local music patrons. \nMost members live in the Orlando area but we have regular members who come from as far afield as Jacksonville\, Tampa\, Daytona and St. Petersburg. The Philharmonic gives 13-15 concerts per year and so we don’t provide full time employment for any of the players. Our players are comprised of resident and international artists who collaborate with symphonic and operatic companies at large. Although most orchestra members are not Villagers\, there are two professional orchestra members who are Village residents and there are six amateurs who train each Saturday so that they can meet the standards required to play with the Philharmonic.

DESCRIPTION:What comes to mind when a father\, his two sons\, and their multi-talented Vegas pals get together and create a show? For starters\, you can say a diverse recipe of hilarious personal stories\, a vast repertoire of songs through multiple decades and genres\, and one family’s journey together through life and music. The Bronx Wanderers pride themselves on being one of the only shows able to entertain grandparents\, their children\, and the grandchildren all in one sweeping musical tour de force. How do they accomplish this? Well\, the generation gap between the band members (30+ years) forces them to satisfy themselves musically\, which in turn satisfies each and every audience they’ve encountered. The chemistry and energy they exert show after show proves they are still having the best time together on stage and you can tell they perform each show like it’s their first or last.\nThe show’s founder and patriarch\, Yo’ Vinny\, takes you on a musical journey through his illustrious career in the record business while working for Lifesong and Columbia Records since he was 17 years old. He’s worked with too many artists to mention\, but what he says in the show is “each song you hear tonight\, is someone I’ve either had the pleasure to produce\, sing back up for\, or worked with in the record industry during my 30 year career.” For instance\, you’ll hear songs by Dion and The Belmonts\, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons\, Billy Joel\, The Animals\, Queen\, and even an artist or two from today’s generation. As they say in the band and in countless reviews\, regardless of how old you are coming to the show\, everyone leaves feeling like they’re 20 years old.\nThe Bronx Wanderers have been going strong for over 16 years and have amassed many accolades such as touring the entire country headlining festivals\, PACs\, and casinos\, securing a permanent residency in Las Vegas from 2016 to the present\, filling in for Frankie Valli in Dubai\, being the first and only act to have opened for Tony Orlando and Danny Aiello\, backing Dean Martin’s daughter\, Deana\, for multiple shows\, performing the national anthem for the NY Rangers at Madison Square Garden and the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas\, and still managing to have time to volunteer and do charity benefits for the Win-Win Charity Organization\, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital\, and multiple Veteran’s and Armed Forces charities and galas.\nAs Yo’ Vinny always said to his sons “work hard and do well for others\, and success will follow.” Well\, it appears it certainly has and he was right. In the first two years alone of their Las Vegas residency\, The Bronx Wanderers are a top ten show on Trip Advisor\, received the “People’s Choice” Award from Vegas.com\, received a 5 star Yelp Award\, received the Bronze Award for “Best New Show” their first year (coming in 3rd behind Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys)\, and got nominated in 7 other categories in their sophomore year.\nHis two sons are no strangers to their own levels of success. His younger son\, Nick\, had the opportunity to drum and perform for Frankie Valli with the Chicago Jersey Boys cast and was even offered a role in Blue Man Group (but his father and brother just couldn’t let him go.) The older son\, Vin A.\, who is the music director and producer for the group\, is an accomplished songwriter and arranger\, who recently got to open for Bon Jovi at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in front of 18\,000 people with his original music.\nThe Bronx Wanderers certainly has an interesting\, unique dynamic and has proven to be a long-lasting success in the ever changing entertainment business. They give the credit to their loyal fans and devoted followers\, some of which have been with them since the beginning and have had the opportunity to watch the boys grow from 14 and 11 years old\, to the seasoned professionals they’ve become today. The boys give the credit to their “Daddy-O” (and mother\, Carol) for holding it all together through the good times and the “not so easy\,” and the humble father now says in the show “I used to carry them\, but nowadays\, they are carrying me and I couldn’t be more proud.”

DESCRIPTION:What comes to mind when a father\, his two sons\, and their multi-talented Vegas pals get together and create a show? For starters\, you can say a diverse recipe of hilarious personal stories\, a vast repertoire of songs through multiple decades and genres\, and one family’s journey together through life and music. The Bronx Wanderers pride themselves on being one of the only shows able to entertain grandparents\, their children\, and the grandchildren all in one sweeping musical tour de force. How do they accomplish this? Well\, the generation gap between the band members (30+ years) forces them to satisfy themselves musically\, which in turn satisfies each and every audience they’ve encountered. The chemistry and energy they exert show after show proves they are still having the best time together on stage and you can tell they perform each show like it’s their first or last.\nThe show’s founder and patriarch\, Yo’ Vinny\, takes you on a musical journey through his illustrious career in the record business while working for Lifesong and Columbia Records since he was 17 years old. He’s worked with too many artists to mention\, but what he says in the show is “each song you hear tonight\, is someone I’ve either had the pleasure to produce\, sing back up for\, or worked with in the record industry during my 30 year career.” For instance\, you’ll hear songs by Dion and The Belmonts\, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons\, Billy Joel\, The Animals\, Queen\, and even an artist or two from today’s generation. As they say in the band and in countless reviews\, regardless of how old you are coming to the show\, everyone leaves feeling like they’re 20 years old.\nThe Bronx Wanderers have been going strong for over 16 years and have amassed many accolades such as touring the entire country headlining festivals\, PACs\, and casinos\, securing a permanent residency in Las Vegas from 2016 to the present\, filling in for Frankie Valli in Dubai\, being the first and only act to have opened for Tony Orlando and Danny Aiello\, backing Dean Martin’s daughter\, Deana\, for multiple shows\, performing the national anthem for the NY Rangers at Madison Square Garden and the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas\, and still managing to have time to volunteer and do charity benefits for the Win-Win Charity Organization\, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital\, and multiple Veteran’s and Armed Forces charities and galas.\nAs Yo’ Vinny always said to his sons “work hard and do well for others\, and success will follow.” Well\, it appears it certainly has and he was right. In the first two years alone of their Las Vegas residency\, The Bronx Wanderers are a top ten show on Trip Advisor\, received the “People’s Choice” Award from Vegas.com\, received a 5 star Yelp Award\, received the Bronze Award for “Best New Show” their first year (coming in 3rd behind Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys)\, and got nominated in 7 other categories in their sophomore year.\nHis two sons are no strangers to their own levels of success. His younger son\, Nick\, had the opportunity to drum and perform for Frankie Valli with the Chicago Jersey Boys cast and was even offered a role in Blue Man Group (but his father and brother just couldn’t let him go.) The older son\, Vin A.\, who is the music director and producer for the group\, is an accomplished songwriter and arranger\, who recently got to open for Bon Jovi at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in front of 18\,000 people with his original music.\nThe Bronx Wanderers certainly has an interesting\, unique dynamic and has proven to be a long-lasting success in the ever changing entertainment business. They give the credit to their loyal fans and devoted followers\, some of which have been with them since the beginning and have had the opportunity to watch the boys grow from 14 and 11 years old\, to the seasoned professionals they’ve become today. The boys give the credit to their “Daddy-O” (and mother\, Carol) for holding it all together through the good times and the “not so easy\,” and the humble father now says in the show “I used to carry them\, but nowadays\, they are carrying me and I couldn’t be more proud.”

SUMMARY:January Classical Concert - Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky
DESCRIPTION:In January 2027\, The Villages Philharmonic will present an extraordinary program featuring two great masterpieces of the Russian musical tradition. We are honored to welcome guest soloists trumpeter John De Paola and pianist Antonio Pompa-Baldi for Dmitri Shostakovich’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra\, a work of remarkable brilliance\, energy\, and virtuosity. The program will be complemented by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.4 in F minor\, one of the composer’s most powerful and deeply expressive symphonies\, filled with dramatic intensity\, emotional depth\, and unforgettable melodies. It will be an evening celebrating two monumental composers and the extraordinary power of orchestral music.  \nBased in Florida’s friendliest hometown\, “The Villages Philharmonic” is a professional Orchestra presenting the highest possible standard for excellence in musical performance since 2003. \nUnder the musical direction of acclaimed Conductor Pasquale Valerio\, the orchestra has grown in stature while enriching and shaping cultural life. The orchestra presents musical masterpieces to nourish the hearts\, souls and minds of local music patrons. \nMost members live in the Orlando area but we have regular members who come from as far afield as Jacksonville\, Tampa\, Daytona and St. Petersburg. The Philharmonic gives 13-15 concerts per year and so we don’t provide full time employment for any of the players. Our players are comprised of resident and international artists who collaborate with symphonic and operatic companies at large. Although most orchestra members are not Villagers\, there are two professional orchestra members who are Village residents and there are six amateurs who train each Saturday so that they can meet the standards required to play with the Philharmonic.

DESCRIPTION:Known around the world for its eclectic repertoire and dazzling virtuosity\, the Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer – under the leadership of Music Director Tim Keeler – has been hailed by the Boston Globe as “breathtaking in its accuracy of intonation\, purity of blend\, of color and swagger of style.” Founded in San Francisco in 1978 by singer and musicologist Louis Botto\, Chanticleer quickly took its place as one of the most prolific recording and touring ensembles in the world\, an “orchestra of voices” performing thousands of live concerts and selling more than one million recordings. \nRooted in the Renaissance\, Chanticleer’s repertoire has expanded to include a wide range of classical\, gospel\, jazz and popular music\, and the group performs its beloved “A Chanticleer Christmas” program on tour every December. A new Christmas album\, Joy to the World\, will be released in Fall 2025. With a deep commitment to the commissioning of new compositions and arrangements\, Chanticleer foregrounds American repertoire and a distinctively American sound\, complementing the group’s signature diversity in terms of membership and genre. The ensemble has dedicated much of its vast recording catalogue to these commissions\, garnering Grammy Awards for its recordings of Sir John Tavener’s Lamentations & Praises and the ambitious collection of commissioned works entitled Colors of Love. Chanticleer’s 2002 album Our American Journey was inducted into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress in 2025. The group is the recipient of Chorus America’s Dale Warland Commission Award and the Chorus America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming. Chanticleer’s Music Director Emeritus\, Joseph H. Jennings\, received the Brazeal Wayne Dennard Award for his contribution to the African American choral tradition during his 25-year tenure as both singer and Music Director. \nChanticleer – named for the “clear-singing” rooster in Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales – was named Ensemble of the Year by Musical America in 2008 and inducted into the American Classical Music Hall of Fame. The group’s award-winning education programs were recognized with the 2010 Chorus America Education Outreach Award\, and have engaged tens of thousands of students since the ensemble began.
