The orchestra presents musical masterpieces to nourish the hearts\, souls and minds of local music patrons. \nMost members live in the Orlando area but we have regular members who come from as far afield as Jacksonville\, Tampa\, Daytona and St. Petersburg. The Philharmonic gives 13-15 concerts per year and so we don’t provide full time employment for any of the players. Our players are comprised of resident and international artists who collaborate with symphonic and operatic companies at large. Although most orchestra members are not Villagers\, there are two professional orchestra members who are Village residents and there are six amateurs who train each Saturday so that they can meet the standards required to play with the Philharmonic.

DESCRIPTION:SPACE ODDITY\, The Quintessential David Bowie Tribute Experience is a live\, theatrically staged\, elaborately-costumed multi-media spectacle that transports audiences on a musical journey through the constantly metamorphosing career of David Bowie which was notable for constant reinvention and visual presentation in both his music and on stage.\nOver the last 20 years\, SPACE ODDITY\, starring David Brighton\, has performed throughout the USA\, Canada\, Mexico\, Australia\, Finland\, Germany\, Estonia\, Belgium\, France\, The Netherlands\, Spain\, Luxembourg\, Switzerland\, Portugal\, Israel\, New Zealand and China and is widely considered to be the world’s premier tribute to David Bowie\n\nSPACE ODDITY – MEET THE BAND\nDAVID BRIGHTON\nDavid Brighton is credited as being the world’s best David Bowie impersonator\, with credits including performing side by side with David Bowie himself in the TV commercials for Vittel Mineral Water and for Reality – Bowie’s CD.\nDavid began his musical career as a professional guitarist\, playing lead guitar with a number of popular recording artists. Quiet Riot’s Kevin Dubrow tapped David to replace the legendary guitarist Randy Rhoads.\nBrighton has performed as a resident cast member of the world-famous Legends In Concert – the Las Vegas production show. He was also cast to portray David Bowie in the Warner Brothers feature film\, The Watchmen\, and has appeared as David Bowie on VH-1 television as well as in international pop star Shakira’s concert video.\nDavid has also enjoyed portraying George Harrison around the world in a number of the leading Beatle tributes including Rain\, The Stars of Beatlemania\, The Fab Four\, 1964\, and Classical Mystery Tour\, among others.\nPAUL NELSON – Lead Guitar /Vocals\nPaul brilliantly reproduces some of rock music’s greatest guitar players’ feel & sounds (including Mick Ronson\, Robert Fripp and Stevie Ray Vaughn) and the vocal stylings of vocalists as diverse as Freddie Mercury and Mick Jagger.  His original songs have been featured on television and in films\, including the Academy Award winning – The Usual Suspects\, HBO\, Showtime\, CBS and ABC. Paul toured with surf legends Jan and Dean.\n\nDANA DECKER – Bass Guitar/Background Vocals\nDana Decker is a highly regarded music professional who has toured with the Pussy Cat Dolls\, Toni Basil and Vonda Shepard. Dana’s uncanny ability to reproduce the otherworldly bass lines in David Bowie’s music makes him the perfect choice for Space Oddity.\n\nMONICA SCHNEIDER – Keyboards/vocals/Percussion\nMonica’s vocal skills can be heard of recordings as diverse as The Sweet\, Quiet Riot\, Survivor\, The Who and numerous others. She began performing at the age of eight in musical theater and has toured throughout the US with various theaters/companies. She was a principal vocalist in Jubilee\, one of Las Vegas’ longest running shows and has performed as a singing and dancing member of the Satin Dollz and the Jive Aces.\n\nTY DENNIS – Drums\nTy has shared the stage with Alice Cooper\, Alex Lifeson\, Richie Sambora\, and Ian Astbury (The Cult).  Ty also spent time with The Motels (featuring Martha Davis)\, Firebug\, Chuck Negron (Three Dog Night) and was hand-picked by rock legends Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek to replace drumming icon Stewart Copeland in The Doors of the 21st Century. TV appearances have included the Carson Daly Show\, The Craig Kilborn Show\, MTV Japan\, PBS’s Front & Center\, VH1 Classics\, and VH1′s ‘Decades Live’.\n\n\n\n  \n\nSponsored by Get Off The Bus tours
